eForensics

eForensics combines MD5’s expertise in digital forensics, data analytics and electronic review tools.  Should the forensics investigation discover high volumes of data, eForensics establishes the facts of a case in much shorter timescales.

Our digital forensics team examine logs, document folders, and email containers for evidence on computer drives & other digital devices. We recover files that have been accidentally or intentionally deleted. Our forensic analysts have the technical expertise to retrieve file fragments and other digital artefacts. We investigate mobile phones & tablets to discover evidence in messaging, email, photos, video and geolocation content.

Our eForensics analysts then apply sophisticated technology to remove duplicate documents and filter out non-relevant files and documents to significantly reduce the amount of data that is searched for evidence. The client’s investigation team can then quickly identify relevant sources of evidence via our easy to use online review platform.

eDisclosure

We have tailored MD5’s eDisclosure service to meet the requirements of all types and scale of cases. Our project managers and analysts are experienced in supporting review teams who may have infrequent or little experience of eDisclosure.

eDisclosure Strategy and Collection of Data

MD5’s scalable eDisclosure solution adheres to the EDRM model to deliver proportionate defensible outcomes for everyday as well as complex cases.

Our eDisclosure team applies considerable experience to assist our clients in meeting the challenge of the increasing volumes of data stored in computers, mobile phones, and the Cloud. Our Project Manager will advise on a cost-effective strategy that identifies and collects relevant electronically stored information with minimal disruption to the organisation.

Processing and Data Reduction

State-of-the-art processing technology analyses and filters out documents that are ineligible for review. This automatically analyses and groups data, removes duplicate documents and identifies near duplicates and email threads.  Application of filters eliminates documents that are not relevant and significantly reduces the amount of data going forward to review.

Online Review

Our secure online review platform enables reviews to be conducted from multiple locations and time zones; with highly collaborative features to allow users to easily share information with the other members of the review team. 24/7 access to the online review platform means this can be accessed remotely from any device with an internet connection.

The system is configured to meet the needs of your project; together, with its intuitive design, enables even inexperienced review teams to quickly achieve efficient review rates.

Documents are viewable in Native, Image & Text views with redaction and annotation facilities built into the image view. Identification of key documents is simplified by a range of features to aid document searching. These identify related & similar documents, highlight search term hits and automatically direct the reviewer to a particular key word in long documents. Document tagging is configured to suit the needs of the project and those documents previously tagged are automatically excluded from further searches.

Graphics or charts visually represent important review information; such as the emails that relate to a particular custodian or the number of documents have been reviewed and not reviewed.

The dashboard is a centralised hub that can be configured for all project related data and activity. It displays important information that allows a user to monitor their progress. The administrator dashboard enables the review manager to monitor KPIs and the performance of individual team members.

Technology Assisted Review (including Predictive Review)

Complex cases with high volumes of data will benefit from our innovative suite of TAR techniques that automate the identification of relevant documents and reduce the discovery effort.
